Our Story
Morgie’s Closet was inspired by my daughter and a realization that stayed heavy on my heart — while many families have closets filled with beautiful clothing, shoes, toys, and essentials no longer being used, many children entering foster care arrive with very little of their own.
In moments of unexpected transition, children are often removed from familiar environments and placed into new homes with little time to prepare. Many arrive carrying only a small bag, a few belongings, or sometimes nothing at all. During such uncertain and emotional moments, even the smallest acts of comfort can make a meaningful difference.
What began as a personal inspiration quickly grew into a mission rooted in compassion, dignity, and community. Morgie’s Closet was created to help provide children entering foster care with clothing, shoes, comfort items, toys, and everyday essentials that help them feel safe, valued, and cared for during difficult transitions.
We believe every child deserves more than basic necessities — they deserve comfort, confidence, and the reminder that they are supported by a community that truly cares. Through the generosity of families, volunteers, local businesses, churches, schools, and community partners, Morgie’s Closet continues to bridge the gap between unused resources and urgent needs within the foster care system.
